Solarwinds DGA

This event is focused on creating a decoder for the Sunburst DGA protocol. Using open published write-ups, with Cyber Fire explanations and tutorials, and staff guidance, participants will use the week to create a Python 3 Sunburst DGA decoder.

This week will strengthen the following skills:

• Reading published technical reports
• Using existing protocol knowledge to identify problems with write-ups
• Performing your own investigation into discrepancies with data
• Programming in Python 3

This is not an event to learn new fundamental skills (hexadecimal, encoding schemes, programming, etc.), but rather sharpen existing skills working with complex data and learning a new, more specialized skill.
